End-User License Agreement
Last updated: June 30, 2026
This End-User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you (an individual or a single organization) and MCP Inspector ("we", "us") for the MCP Inspector desktop software, including the installer, the bundled local sidecar/proxy, and any updates (collectively, the "Software"). By installing, copying, or using the Software, you agree to this EULA, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
1. License grant
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run the Software, subject to your tier:
- Free: install and use on your own devices at no cost, with the Free-tier feature set.
- Pro: activate on up to 2 machines per license key for the duration of an active subscription.
- Team: one activation per licensed seat (3-seat minimum), administered by your organization.
- Enterprise: as set out in your separate Enterprise agreement (including self-hosted license server and air-gap mode).
2. License keys & machine activation
Paid tiers are unlocked with a license key. To enforce machine and seat limits, the Software computes a one-way hashed machine fingerprint and validates your key with our license service; details are in the Privacy Policy. You agree not to share, publish, resell, or sublicense your key, and not to defeat, bypass, or interfere with license validation or seat enforcement. We may revoke keys used in violation of this EULA.
3. Restrictions
You may not: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law; (b) rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the Software; (c) remove or alter any proprietary notices; (d) use the Software to build a competing product; or (e) use the Software in violation of the Acceptable Use Policy or any applicable law.
4. Updates
The Software may check for and install updates (from releases.mcp-inspector.com). Updates are provided under this EULA unless accompanied by separate terms. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
5. Your data
The Software is local-first. Traffic you capture is stored on your own device (or, for Team/Enterprise, on infrastructure you control). You are responsible for the data you capture, including any secrets or personal data contained in inspected traffic. We do not receive or access your captured traffic.
6. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual property rights. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
7. Term & termination
This EULA applies for as long as you use the Software. It terminates automatically if you breach it. Paid-tier rights end when your subscription ends. On termination you must stop using and remove the paid Software; sections that by their nature survive (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS EULA WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS.
10. Governing law
This EULA is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.
