Terms of Service
Last updated: June 30, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MCP Inspector ("the Software", "we", "us", "our") — a desktop application for inspecting Model Context Protocol (MCP) JSON-RPC traffic — and any related websites, downloads, and paid plans. "MCP Inspector" is a trade name under which the Software is operated. By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to these Terms and to the End-User License Agreement and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
1. License grant
Subject to these Terms and the EULA, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software. The Free tier may be used indefinitely at no cost. Paid tiers (Pro, Team, Enterprise) unlock additional features for the duration of an active subscription.
2. License keys, machines & seats
- Pro includes 2 machine activations per license key.
- Team is licensed per seat (3-seat minimum), managed by your organization.
- License keys are personal to you or your organization. You agree not to share, resell, sublicense, or publish your key. To enforce machine and seat limits, the Software associates a license with a one-way hashed machine identifier (see our Privacy Policy).
- We may suspend or revoke a license that is shared, abused, or used in violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
3. Subscriptions & billing
- Pro: $79/month or $790/year. Team: $69/seat/month (3-seat minimum), with an annual option.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms. We do not receive or store your full card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to the next renewal.
4. Free trial
Pro features may be offered as a 14-day free trial without a credit card. At the end of the trial, the Software automatically reverts to the Free tier unless you subscribe. The Free tier is and remains free.
5. Cancellation & refunds
No refunds. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal. When you cancel, you keep access to paid features until the end of your current billing period; we do not provide refunds or credits for partial or unused periods, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
If you are a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with a mandatory cooling-off / right-of-withdrawal period for digital purchases, your statutory rights apply. By starting a subscription or downloading paid content immediately, you request that performance begin right away and acknowledge that, once it has, your statutory right of withdrawal may no longer apply. The Free tier is unaffected by cancellation.
6. Acceptable use
Your use of the Software is also subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. In short, you agree not to: (a) circumvent or tamper with license validation or seat enforcement; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except to the extent permitted by applicable law; (c) resell, rent, or redistribute the Software or keys; or (d) use the Software to violate any law or the rights of others.
7. Your captured data
MCP Inspector is local-first. Traffic you capture is stored on your own device (and, for Team/Enterprise, on infrastructure you control). You retain all rights to that data; we do not receive, access, or store the contents of your captured traffic. See the Privacy Policy for details on the limited data the Software does transmit (license validation and update checks).
8. Intellectual property
The Software, its source, and all related trademarks and content are owned by us and our licensors. These Terms grant you a license to use the Software, not ownership of it. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Software at any time. We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms. On termination, paid features may stop working; the rights and disclaimers that by their nature should survive will survive.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Colorado will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue, except where mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.
